A one-off knitted sample from A Stitch in Time volume 1, knitted with Rowan Cotton Glace, 100% cotton in the shades Persimmon and Oyster. This lovely swim-suit was originally published in Woman & Home in 1935. It features a lovely v-shape at the front and a delicate square chape at the back, although it can be worn either way around. The top part features some delicate texture, while the body is made in stock stitch, creating a visual contrast heightened by the choice of colours that makes of this garment a dashing piece. The body is shaped to create the classic 1930s silhouette, and the belt provides a delicate visual enhancement of it.

The sample was knitted to fit everyone from a size 32 inch chest more as a tunic and shorts, through to a 44-46 inch chest for a fitted bathing suit. It has a finished chest dimension of 18 inch (46cm), total finished length of 31 inch (79.5 cm).
