The two colourways of the Vita cardigan were inspired by author, poet and garden designer Vita Sackville West, and in particular, the beautiful gardens she created at her home, Sissinghurst Vita is the perfect V-neck cardigan featuring a stunning all-over colourwork patterning. The cardigan has a relaxed, comfortable fit, with dropped shoulders and a deep V-neck. Choose from either a short or long length, pockets or without! Vita is knitted in the round from the bottom up with a centre front steek throughout. Additional steeks are added at the armholes.

Vita is knitted using [link: Susan Crawford Byre = /collections/byre :link], a fingering weight yarn that is delightfully lofty and soft, created from a blend of Jacobs and Shetland fibres spun exclusively for us in a nearby Yorkshire mill.

Vita is shown here in two colourways and two lengths - Susan is wearing Colourway Two short length and Ruth is wearing Colourway One long length.

Colourway One which uses 11 shades:
with the main shade [productlink: Heather = byre-heather :productlink] plus 10 further shades - Dry Stone Wall, Clay, Moss Covered Wall, Room Of My Own, Ragwort, Undergrowth, Sunset Over The Bay, Plum Jam, Glimpse Of The Sea and Night Sky.

Colourway Two which uses 7 shades:
with the main shade of [productlink: Denim = byre-denim :productlink] plus 6 further shades - Jack 'O' Lantern, Rusty Tractor, Loam, Sunset Over The Bay, Glimpse Of The Sea and Fence Post.

There are four yarn kits to choose from: Two for Colourway One and two for Colourway Two each to fit a range of sizes from 71-157 cm (28-62 in) chest as follows:

Colourway One - Size One: To fit sizes 76 to 107cm (30-42in) chest (LONG LENGTH) and 76-117cm (30-46in) chest (SHORT LENGTH), includes 2 X 100g skeins of main shade of Heather plus 10 x 100g skeins in each of 10 contrast shades.

Colourway One - Size Two: To fit sizes 112-152cm (44-60in) chest (LONG LENGTH) and 122-152cm (48-60in) chest (SHORT LENGTH), includes 3 X 100g skeins of main shade of Heather plus 10 X 100g skeins in each of 10 contrast shades.

Colourway Two - Size One: To fit sizes 76 to 107cm (30-42in) chest (LONG LENGTH) and 76-117cm (30-46in) chest (SHORT LENGTH). includes 2 X 100g skeins of main shade of Denim plus 6 X 100g skeins in 6 contrast shades.
