Pattern - Fair Isle Yoke
[tabblock]
[tab1: The Fair Isle Yoke pattern was first published in 1946 and is a beautiful example of this type of sweater. It is also a great introduction for anyone wishing to try colourwork knitting for the first time as this is only worked on the upper front yoke. The sweater is knitted in stocking stitch throughout with increases worked at the side seams for a shapely fit. The sweater has short puff sleeves and a high neck fastened with a button at one side of the neck. Charted instructions are provided for the colourwork pattern.
Fair Isle Yoke is knitted in a choice of two yarns. We have used [link: Susan Crawford Wold 2 Ply Fingering Weight = /collections/wold-2-ply-fingering-weight :link] in [productlink: Oatmeal = wold-2-ply-fingering-weight-oatmeal :productlink] with contrasting shades of [productlink: Evergreen = wold-2-ply-fingering-weight-evergreen :productlink], [productlink: Cornflower = wold-2-ply-fingering-weight-Cornflower :productlink] , [productlink: Pompium = wold-2-ply-fingering-weight-Pompium :productlink], [productlink: Genisteae = wold-2-ply-fingering-weight-Genisteae :productlink], [productlink: Magellanica = wold-2-ply-fingering-weight-Magellanica :productlink] and [productlink: Heliotrope = wold-2-ply-fingering-weight-Heliotrope :productlink].
