Pattern - Could Anything Be Prettier

[tabblock]
[tab1: Could Anything Be Prettier, as its name suggests, is a very feminine, pretty sweater - first published in the late 1930s and is knitted in an unusual combination of eyelet lace and stocking stitch. A separate frill - or jabot, is made which is attached to the centre front of the garment. The full short sleeves are knitted in the same contrasting stitch. The top is knitted in separate flat pieces which are then sewn together. The simple lace stitch for the dainty puffed sleeves and the lace interspersing the stocking stitch create a wonderfully airy fabric making this the perfect knit to wear on warmer days.

Could Anything Be Prettier is knitted using [link: Susan Crawford Fenella = /collections/fenella :link], a 2 ply (vintage 3ply weight) yarn, worsted spun for a soft handle. Exquisite for Fair Isle projects as well as textured and lace stitches. Could Anything Be Prettier is shown here in shade [productlink: Columbine = columbine :productlink].

Our model Theodora is shown wearing the first size.

The pattern includes instructions for five sizes to fit chest measurements between 76cm (30in) and 122cm (48in) and contains clear written instructions plus a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart. :tab1]
