Susan has long been a fan of knitted underwear and nightwear patterns that can easily be updated to work as outerwear. The Weldon pattern is inspired by an old booklet called Dainty Undies, published by Weldons Practical Needlework in the early 1940s. Weldon is a close-fitting, lacy garment that comes in two versions: a cropped vest and a stylish dress. The easy lace and garter stitch panels provide a great introduction to lace knitting, and the simple shape makes this a fun and surprisingly quick knit. Both garments are knitted from the bottom up.
Weldon is knitted using [link: Susan Crawford Lomaria = /collections/lomaria :link], a luxurious fingering weight yarn created from a blend of 70% Alpaca, 20% Silk, 10% Cashmere.
Weldon is shown here in two styles; the dress in shade [productlink: Snowdrop = lomaria-snowdrop :productlink] and the top/vest version in shade [productlink: Dealbata = lomaria-dealbata :productlink].
The pattern includes instructions for nine sizes to fit chest measurements between 71cm (28in) and 162cm (64in) and contains both clear written pattern directions, together with charted lace pattern instructions. :tab1]
