Pattern - Torshavn
[tabblock]
[tab1: The Tórshavn cowl is designed to fit in that awkward gap above your coat, where it will sit snuggly inside your collar to create an elegant and cosy profile. The striking colourwork pattern is adapted from a traditional Faroese stitch pattern directory which was
published in 1927.
Tórshavn is knitted completely in the round, and uses stranded colourwork technique for the two-colour patterning. It is a great introductory pattern for anyone new to colourwork.
The pattern can be used with either DK or Fingering weight yarns. If using a DK weight yarn use the stitch and round numbers before the brackets and if using a Fingering weight yarn use the stitch and round numbers within the brackets.
Torshavn is knitted in either [link: Excelana North fingering weight=:=/collections/excelana-4-ply :link] or Excelana North DK, a soft, yet durable yarn which is perfect for colourwork, and uses two contrasting shades. Our sample has been knitted using either Persian Grey and Alabaster or Charcoal and Snowdrop:tab1]
The pattern includes comprehensive written instructions plus a full colour chart which should be read from right to left on every round.
