Pattern - Strictly Stylish Spats

[tabblock]
[tab1: More elegant than the leg warmer, these spats replace the practical boot on smart occasions! A very simple knit, introducing the knitter to short row shaping, these spats knit up extremely quickly and look incredibly stylish.

This simple pattern is knitted flat with a back seam, using an all-over ribbed pattern for good stretchability, with increases worked at the centre front of the spat. Additional short rows are worked to shape the lower foot end of the spats. The cuff length is knitted long enough to be folded over itself for added warmth and style.

Two sizes are provided in the pattern using gauge to determine the finished size of the spats, and further sizes can easily be created from this base pattern by using larger or smaller needles depending on the finished size required. See in the pattern for further information on fitting notes. The spats are knitted up in double knit weight yarn but could also be made smaller or bigger by using other weights of yarn. Please note if you use thicker yarn you may need more yarn than the pattern specifies.

Strictly Stylish Spats is knitted in a DK weight yarn such as our [link: Excelana DK =:= /collections/excelana-dk :link], [link: Wold DK =:= /collections/wold-dk :link] or [link: Barn =:= /collections/barn :link] using a single skein.
