Pattern - Piccina

[tabblock]
[tab1: The Piccina scarflette is the perfect addition to any wardrobe, providing an elegant finishing touch to modern and vintage necklines alike, keeping you warm and cosy at the same time and creates a wonderfully polished wearable accessory.

Simple to knit, Piccina combines a double I-cord tie with an I-cord edged garter stitch main section to elegant effect. Two yarn options are provided in the pattern. Option One uses a single strand of fingering (4 ply) weight yarn throughout, whilst Option Two introduces a strand of mohair / silk when working the main section of Piccina to add extra warmth and an even softer fabric.

Piccina is knitted sideways from end to end, so if you’re using up yarn, you can increase until half your yarn has been used and then immediately start decreasing, rather than working to the stitch counts given. Bear in mind the scarflette will be smaller or larger than the dimensions specified in the pattern as a result.

If purchasing yarn, just one 20g or 25g mini skein in a fingering weight yarn is all you need to knit Option One.
If you are working with both the sock yarn and the mohair silk, please note that the mohair is not used for the ties or for the 3 edge stitches of the main section of the kerchief, only for the garter stitch central section, so you will use less of this yarn.
This quick and simple knit is perfect both for beginners or more experienced knitters looking for a rewarding but easy knit.

Piccina is knitted using [productlink: Susan Crawford Bluem Sock = bluem-sock :productlink] a soft and resilient fingering weight 75% Blue Faced Leicester and 25% Nylon. Option two also uses [productlink: Susan Crawford Mist = mist :productlink]. The yarns are dyed in-house by Susan and her team. Shown here in shade [productlink: Lime Mortar = bluem-sock-lime-mortar :productlink] but looks fabulous in any of Bluem's stunning colours.

The pattern contains clear written pattern directions and a comprehensive schematic diagram and sizing chart. :tab1]
