This kit contains all the yarn you need to knit the stunning Gallica mittens.

The mittens are knitted with Barn, a DK weight yarn which is spun from 100% British wool at a nearby mill in Yorkshire. Barn is a blend of Jacob and Shetland fleeces creating a beautifully soft, airy, tonal, naturally grey yarn. This natural shade is called Dry Stone Wall and is the background colour for these vibrant mittens.

In addition this stunning yarn has been hand dyed in four rich shades to create the hues needed for the bold pattern.

Rosehip is a strong, vibrant red; Gallica is a vibrant almost fuschia shade of pink; Folius a rich leaf green and Frond a fresh apple green. These shades layered over the varying natural greys of Barn, create intense colours with depth and interest. These stunning hand dyed yarns have been hand dyed at our Lake District studio. They have then been spun into 10g skeins to provide each kit with the correct amount of yarn. Dry Stone Wall has been specially spun into 50g skeins, the perfect quantity for knitting your mittens.
